I tip 18 to 20% for good service and personally I think anyone who tips less than 15% should think about how hard a server works and those who don't tip shouldn't go out to eat at all.

They come to your table like hummingbirds to nectar and say hi and sign their names. At first I thought they do this so they can document who shares the tip but 7-8 girls came by so I think it's just to be friendly and keep the customer happy.

I know we are to leave 15% tip & so on when eating out & I do. But when you have poor service, & you either dont leave a tip or very minimal one, do the waiter/waitress get the point or do they just think that you are cheap?

Now, to all of the waiters & waitresses out there, I know that there are some folks that are just plain ole cheap & leave $5 if they order $20 or $100. Some are just hopeless & impossible to deal with, & you know that you have given your best service possible. But I am talking about those wait staff that are not attentive, & dont take care uf us. When you know that you didnt give your all, do you get it when you get stiffed on your tips? Or do you blame the customer? What would you prefer customers do if they are unhappy with your service?

As a customer, what do you look for when going to a restaurant, whether it is fine dining, or a casual/fine dining restaurant. What kind of ambiance is would you preffer? Please explain with as much detail as possible. Also, what would you look for in a breakfast restaurant that would close at around noon? For those with busy schedules (work, kids, school, etc.), what would you want out of a restaurant of such style in order to accomodate to you when you can't make it during open hours?

What does it mean when two customers leave a waitress a good tip but also a dime for each person on the table when they leave?
I know that leaving no tip or a tip and a penny means that the service was poor but what does a dime indicate-that the waitress is cheap?

My husband and I are going to Paris for our anniversary and I'm curious about the food. I don't eat seafood. I'm curious about chicken and beef dishes. After Paris we're going to Venice. I'm a huge fan of Italian foods. Any recommendations for dining spots in Venice? THANKS!!

When will restuarants and fast food companies learn that serving sizes today are just too big? Don't they understand that by making serving sizes over twice what they should be they are sabotoging the health of our nation. In addition, they are contributing to mass waste of food as most normal people can never finish a full serving of food at any restuarant. Why can't they just offer half portions at half the cost? It would save food, make customers happy and help heal the obese epidemic that has a stronghold on our nation. Why do they insist on fattening us up or telling us to just throw the rest away. I for one am about to boycott resturants for this reason. Who's with me?
