My husband and I are going to Paris for our anniversary and I'm curious about the food. I don't eat seafood. I'm curious about chicken and beef dishes. After Paris we're going to Venice. I'm a huge fan of Italian foods. Any recommendations for dining spots in Venice? THANKS!!

As you can tell, many users here are pranky little kids. You'll have better luck (maybe) posting at the links below. In Paris, haute cuisine is as experimental there as in big US cities. Fusion is the trend: Asian, African, and anything else. Portions tend to be smaller. Experiment with lots of different courses.

The more traditional foods tend to be preserved in some way (understandably): cheese, mustard, olives, dry sausage, ham, etc. accompanied by wine and fresh baguettes.

A traditional dish that's becoming popular in the states is cassoulet, a stew of white beans and meat (various kinds).
