It has just developed a green screen (before the channels are selected) & it bleeds through to the main picture, giving the effect of green wavey water. Any ideas what the problem could be?

yesterday as sunday, we went to beach, but forgot to disconnect the tv, this tv was already having some fault of turning off itself after turning on once, sometimes it used to turn on itself, but sometimes we had to use the remote to turn it on back, When we came back form the beach, as soon as we entered the house, some burning smell came, so straight a way searched from where it was coming, so finally went to my bedroom where that tv was kept, in the room the fan was also on, whole room was turned out into black, i was shocked to see the tv fully burnt along with the tv table, all its plastic was burnt and the screen was blasted into pieces ,but i was lucky it didnt took fire along to other curtains and bed etc, actually the room was closed airtight and we had kept the fan and the tv on by mistake, Dear sirs, i would really like to know what could be the cause of it, thanks

And what has your experience been with it? Did it fall apart fast or last good? I ask because Best Buy has some on sale and I just wanted to know whether or not I will be wasting my money. Thanks!

I recently purchased a Mogen tv and freeview box from Sainsburys for a disabled/partially blind friend of mine. The problem is that she is finding it difficult to operate the remote as the buttons are too small and sensative. Does anyone know of an universal remote control with limited/large buttons that would work?

Thanks

New technology has brought a new wave of bigger & supposedly better TV experience via LCDS & Plasmas. Every time I go inside 1 of those fancy shops where they sell such tvs, I am impressed by the picture quality.

I however, noticed that the quality is much lower when the screen is connected to any tv station!! to be honest, i think the old tv has a better quality when it comes to watching tv programs and since most of us watch more tv than DVDs. My question is why pay so much for a HDTV that will only work when watching dvd?

your feedback will be highly appreciated.

I am planning to buy a new HDTV, about 37 or 42 inches or so and there are so many. What kinds do you have and have they been good or not. Also where did you buy them and how much. And is plasma better than LCD or is LCD better? I am mainly wanting it for movies and gaming. Thank you

I currently have a 34" widescreen, and I've been lusting after a 50" widescreen. I know they both have a 16:9 ratio, and I know the pythagorean theorem, but I'm just looking for a quick and easy way to determine total viewing area, in square inches, so I can figure out just how much more viewing area I'll get from the 50" vs. the 34".

Am i right to bought the CRT rear projection tv than instead to buy an LCD rear projection?
Because i bought a CRT rear PJ last 3 weeks ago.I bought it coz we dont have enough money to afford the 50inch LCD PJ TV.I and my father after only for the big screen for the big viewing angle, with it comes to the color or reception i think CRT does not behind far away to the Lcd?(please advise me).
My father wants to watch movie from his busy job,to get rest of his mind and body.we dont mind also the bulky back of the CRT because we have a spacious living room.Is the CRT rear projection tv very far behind from the Lcd? Please help us,i need your positive comment or any suggestion to make great our CRT rear PJ tv. If you have a negative comment,ok,i undersatand.thanks.
God Bless.

I have narrowed the choice down to two;
model number LE40R74BDX, or model number LE-40N73BD.
Both 40" LCD's. No idea which is better!

Sky plus requires two coax cables from the dish, does anyone know why the signal cannot be passed down one lead. Surely the full bandwidth is passed down the lead and the tuners then select which parts to filter. Is there anything active in the dish requiring the two leads? Thanks

Do you really need all of the HDMI cables and HDMI splitter box to get the benefits of an HDTV? My fiance and I were looking to purchase an LCD HDTV's and we know NOTHING! We saw a good looking 30 inch Magnavox model for $699. We thought that was a great deal.....but then, the salesman said that we MUST buy the HDMI cables, etc. etc. for the TV to work right. When it was all said and done, the total was $1400! We currently have normal Direct TV and a PS3....what do we absolutely need to purchase to get the high def benefits? Thanks!

It is a Diamond series Mitsubishi 65" widescreen HD ready set. It's a projection model. It weighs 325lbs. I bought it in 2001 and spent $ 3800.00 for it. I really haven't watched it a whole lot. But I have had it cleaned professionally 2 years ago, and took great care of it. A friend of mine wants to buy it, but I don't know what to charge him.
