I am planning to buy a new HDTV, about 37 or 42 inches or so and there are so many. What kinds do you have and have they been good or not. Also where did you buy them and how much. And is plasma better than LCD or is LCD better? I am mainly wanting it for movies and gaming. Thank you

I like Samsung. Their HLS5087W (although it is a 50") is pretty affordable. They're around $1500 and feature 1080p resolution. I prefer DLP because I do a lot of gaming. With LCD and Plasma you have what is called a "response time" which during fast games (such as racing) you notice lag, or time delay. However, plasma has the highest picture quality but shortest life. If you don't do much gaming LCD may be an option. But like I said, I myself prefer DLP. It's well rounded in quality and features and is not too expensive.

If you're thinking about getting 37" to 42" HDTV, you shoud get either a DLP or Plasma. Generally, both types have higher contrast ratio, deeper blacks, more colors and faster response time than LCD. Plasma is my choice because it's almost as light and thin as LCD. Panasonic and Pioneer make the best Plasma on the market right now. For around $1500 you can get a 37" Panasonic Plasma. Lg, Samsung, Hitachi and Sony, just to name a few, also make Plasma tv. Stay away from HDTV from Wal-Mart.

I would go with a DLP, its cheaper and there won't be the aftershadow that is known on LCD screens.
