someone" gave " me a digital box for cable tv ,we already have one so decided to put it in my sons room.my husband ran cable upstairs using double adaptor thing from point in living room.picture great all working fine.but last night noticed the picture in living room keeps freezing only for a second but really annoying could it be the adaptor used?? seems strange this doesnt happen on tv upstairs.any help appreciated.

This is likely happening because of the signal reduction that occurs when splitting the cable. With analog cable, signal loss results in static in the picture. With digital, it causes pixelation (small squares) and freezing. Most cable companies require that you contact them to add additional TV connections. This ensures that proper equipment is used and the quality is maintained on both TVs.

I have a cable box and I have a splitter so I can watch it upstairs.
I also get occasional freezes but this happens even without the splitter so I think it's probably a common fault. It will probably stop by itself eventually.

I have a one digital box and I get the occasion 1 second freeze as well. I don't believe you are having this issue because you've split the line....

No, not a problem - everyone at the moment in my area (East Anglia) is having the same problem - slight pauses and pixelation!

Not your wiring or equipment!
