if its just the system, ie speaker, so that you don't replace the dvdr, then one drawback is that when you play a dvd it will only be in 2.1 sound.

If you go for a complete home enterment system, then go for one with hdmi output,m as your tv has 2 hdmi inputs ( which will give you better picture quailty ).

If you have sky / sky+ then try and get a home enterment system with opticial in, as the sky has opticial out. Therefore anything on sky you can listern to in 5.1.

Sony and Panasonic both have systems like these on the market, and fully compatiable with your tv.

Any system from Yamaha or Denon power will depend on the size of your room. Also remember to future proof your investment ie if you are buying PS3 or X BOX 360 etc make sure system can cope with inputs etc.

Yamaha and Onkyo make one of the best home cinema system. Check them out at the stores. Audio experts on the forums just love these system.

I recently bought a 42" plasma screen and found that it works amazing with my technics SC-DV250...

i dont know but i got that tv in my room sounds cool when got the bass on watchin movies lol
