I have a Sharp Aquos LCD TV with built in ATSC tuner, which I thought was supposed to be able to unscramble HD channels over basic cable without a set-top box, yet I've read through my manual and can't seem to find the function to scan for HD channels. I've done some looking and keep finding that people are using antennas to receive HD channels. Are they using them because they don't have cable or because that is what is needed to receive HD channels?

Can an LCD TV or a plasma TV purchased in the USA be used in Australia? I am moving soon and I want to know if it is compatible. Apparently normal TV's cannot be used there. Asia and Australia use a different format.

Hi I have a 52" Zenith Hdtv ( z52dc2d ), and I am using it as my main display using a dvi to hdmi connection from my Bfg 7800. I have been looking for hours reading and reading and I simply cannot find a solution to this convergence problem! The text has all these extra colors blurring in with them, its driving me crazy hehe, is there anything I can do without manually servicing the set? Such as different drivers nvidia tv tuner tweaks firmware upgrades, but as far as pictures and everything else solid colors it is fantastic and looks absolutely stunning. Movies are also brilliant! Any links or recommendations for particular programs would really help! I am willing to buy a program to fix this problem. Thanks in advance!

My tv is a 2 yr old Akai 52 in. widescreen I bought at Circuit City in 2005. I recently bought a 480p dvd player from Sony, the pic looks GREAT! but I really wanted to get an upconversion dvd player, however everything I read online tells me that in order to enjoy upconversion dvd, I must have HDMI or DVI. My tv says 1080i on the top right corner and the component input on the back says 480i/480p/1080i. So how do I get 1080i out of this TV or an upconversion DVD? can I even do this at all since my tv does not an HDMI or DVI input, I'm so confused, and really dont have the money for an upgraded tv at this time. HELP?!

The picture keeps turning people's skin bright orange, and the background color keeps getting darker. My family has had the tv for about 12 years so can it be that it's just getting old?

The bottom right hand corner of my tv seems to have suddenly developed colour problem. If the background image is blue it looks red, and if it's white it looks green.

Does anyone know what's causing this? And specifically, could it be some sort of loose connection, and therefore a fire risk?

Any suggestions from tv engineers, repairmen would be very helpful. Thanks.

Looking at the 50 in. sony LCD and 50in. Samsung DLP. Which is better. The sony is about $300 more, but has better reviews.
