Neither one, search up on CRT ptojectors. They are far way better than LCD or DLP. I doubt you'll be able to afford it tho. CRT have the capacity of providing a Screen range of 20 feet, that's almost the size of one in a movie theatre. And also are HDTV compatible and can be used to watch 3D movies. I have a Sony of my own.

Another thing, you don't have to be paying for a $300 light bulb every other month. CRT projectors can last up to 10 years minimum with out doing any maitnance or changing anything to it.

DLP is a technology created by Texas Instruments and used in the top retroprojector TVs on the market today (Toshiba, Sharp, Samsung, Hitachi, Mitsubishi...). Compared to Sony's 3LCD technology, DLP has more advantages to the end user. If you are considering a size between 42 and 61 inches, DLP is the way to go. Sony is a very good brand, but its refusal to use top technologies as the one of Texas Instruments, limits itself to reach greater qualities. Samsung has been proving in my TV room for three years now that it's a quality brand (I have a 50 inches DLP retroprojector), fairly competing with Sony.

LCD

I bought a 46" Sharp Aquos LCD from Best Buys for 3 grand. Two weeks later the price dropped to $2500.00, so I went back and got the difference.

The only hurdle stopping me from buying the same screen in the 52" was my wife. Plasma's are junk and the pictures are even worse. After two months, no regrets. SHARP, hands down is the best company for TVs.

Looking at my screen, then comparing to a friends Sony Bravia plasma, and another low end plasma, there is no comparison. Break out the crowbar, pry open the wallet and spend the extra $$ on an LCD. You won't be sorry.

Rear projection - intense priced upkeep. Rear projection TVs have mild engines to direct mild. those are intense priced and performance constrained existence time. Mechanical mis-alignments of Prisms & mild Engines can happen if care isn't taken. 3. skill intake of rear projection TVs are significantly better 4. liquid crystal exhibit TVs are lighter, a lot less skill hungry, backlight has 25-30 cases longer existence than the mild engines of rear projection TVs, a lot less cumbersome and may be hung on wall

Bah, Sony is overrated. Remember the exploding laptop batteries? -- Sony made them.

Samsung is fine...I would go DLP, you get more for your money
