Music & Music Players - October 2007

Microsoft recently annouced the release of an 80, 8, and a 4GB zune. While Apple has released a new iPod nano with video. The 8GB, and 4GB versions of both are the same price, respectively, BUT, the 80GB Zune is about $50 more than the 80GB iPod, but has a bigger screen.
So, which one do you think would be better to go with, the new iPod nano with video or the new Zune?

I wanted to connect my mp3 phone and/or portable CD player to my home stereo, to listen to the music out loud! Thing is they both only have a headphone out socket, and my Panasonic stereo, has a headphone out and a "Mix mic" in port. Would it be safe to link via my pc audio cable the phone/walkman cd (headphone out) to my stereo (mic in), and would this even work?

I don't want to try it at the moment incase it ruins my phone/cd walkman or the stereo itself, with the voltage etc, i dunno :/

okay .. so i bought the new kind of nano today at target .. and likee . im using it already ..

i think in a week i'm going to want a different kind like ipod touch or something . soo do you think i could return ? i heard that the target return policy is hard .. soo im really scared . im going to delete the songs like i never ever used it before and clean it soo no fingerprints (= so when i return it .. will there be a 15% restocking fee ? IM JUST SCARED OF THAT :/

She has well over 500 songs. Someone told me that would be like 25 CDs. Well, OBVIOUSLY, it would be a bit difficult (not to mention expensive) to burn all her songs to CDs for us to share!

So, please, please, PLEASE tell me there's an easier way to share music! I'd like to avoid installing something - I've heard too many horror stories about computers getting messed up EVEN if the downloads were supposed to be safe. Isn't there some easier way to transfer files?

Note: We're just looking to share music, not videos or anything. So don't make it complicated, because I'm kind of slow. :-D Lol!

I know how to get the videos in the right place, but on my iPod they also show up on my song selection. Is there any way to change this? Thanks.

If I have to burn her library onto CDs, how do I do it? Do we actually put in the blank CD and press the Burn to CD button, or do we put the entire iTunes Library folder onto the CD?

Also, she has about 500 songs - how many CDs would that take and is there an easier way to do this?

so i just got my new 3rd gen. ipod nano with video, but i've looked ALL over the itunes store and it doesn't say "movies" or "TV shows" ANYWHERE! does anybody know why theyre not there or how i can get them? i definitely have the latest version of itunes.

p.s. i live in Canada, could that have anything to do with it? it better not...

I want to buy a CD, Parallel Lines by Blondie. There are two versions, the remastered one, or the 1994 original. Which would be best?

I am a bit dubious about remastered versions; some have been tinkered with too much, and lose something of the original.

Now lets consider that the ipod's battery get drained in 4 phases. So now my prob is even if i listen to songs for one hour and watch only one 5 min video in that one hour..after seeing the 5min video and songs in an hour..my batteries 1 phase gets used up and only 3 phases are left to be completed..So is my battery supposed to be used up that quickly or is their some problem with my battery?

I have a new iPod video, but when I add new songs to it, they don't go in alphabetical order. They all sit at the very bottom. It's only on the iPod, it's fine on iTunes.

I've budgeted myself £150 (strictly no more) to spend on a hi-fi or whatever, ideally one with a usb docking point. Should I go for a half decnt one from Currys or whatever, a traditional midi or mini hi-fi, or get a set from Richer Sounds with an amp and no cables (think it would have to be Bush or one of the cheaper ranges).
