I've been a CD person for my entire life but now I'm thinking that getting an iPod would help me get all of my music together into one place. I know this is true but I'm worried about the quality of the music. Also, once I get an iPod I'd like a home system that really helps me listen to the iPod with the best quality. What’s the story on new technology and iPods?

Yes! Get one! I was just like you were, but then I realized it's like being able to fit ALL my CD's in my pocket and take them with me! It's so convenient!

I'd say yes. There's no real loss of quality when you convert CDs into the iPod, and you can carry around your whole collection in one small package rather than toting around a huge CD folder.

As for the home system, you can either listen to your songs through iTunes on your computer if you have a decent system or you can get yourself cradle speakers for your iPod. The beauty with the iPod is that, because it's so popular, there are a lot of home systems out there designed for it. You can get a simple cradle speaker system for as little as 50 dollars to a very high end home theatre speaker system that costs several thousand dollars. There is a lot of choices out there for the iPod, so you have a big selection to choose from depending on your tastes and budget.

Yup, get one. They are the best and having a home system that supports the ipod is an excellent idea.
I am mother of a teen and I didn't think I would be as happy with my ipod as I am.

I suggest it highly.. they are a small and veratile way of listening to music and they can be used in your home or car.

Ipods dont last long, and have internal batteries :(
Personally i suggest you go with a flash drive mp3 player
Not much size (Around 2-8 gb) Yes sounds real small
But my 2gb has around 500+ songs and still a few hundred mb left (All at 128 kbs)

The thing i like about my mp3 player is you're not limited to using I-tunes

I've dropped and accidently stepped on my mp3 player and yet it still goes

Oh and mp3 players arent that big a target to thief's

Recently i was also thinkin of getting an ipod.
After lond consideration, i got it. :D
N i haven regretted it ever since. cos using those CD players, u have to bring a lot of CDS around with you. plus...ipod u can contain most of ur songs in there... nt onli that u can put in pics and some videos :D

The onli down side is that u have to use itunes to sync eveyrthing in...other then that...hmmm. i think its alright

Hope u make the right decision :D
