I heard that Plasma and LCD televisions have trouble recreating color depth and color saturation properly... I'm wondering which television is better to watch war and destruction on TV with.

I have a 50 inch Sony Plasma and a 1000 Watt SONY 5.1 system. When Hezbollah launches a rocket, it really sounds like you're actually right there with them.
When it hits an Israeli market, the Bass is decent but, I think I'd be better off with Dolby Pro-Logic II so I could actually hear the screams in full uncompressed 5.1.

What do you think?

My DVDs play so quiet I have to turn the volume knob up as far as it can go. This is a big problem when I forget to turn it down and the next thing I hear scares the crap out of me. I use PowerDVD and it seems to happen on my PS2 and Xbox (both original and 360). Are DVDs just naturally really quiet? If so,what can I do on my PC to fix it?

I need it for my sreen tv. I would lie to put my subwoofer in the back of the living room, opposite the tv.I heard that it shouldn't be near the tv, that it will work better and have better sound if opposite of the room. Can anyone help?

I've recently upgraded from my 27" CRT with rabbit ears to a 50" 1080p DLP. But considering that I've just sunk a good chunk of money into this leviathan, where can I get the best HD entertainment bang for my (remaining) buck--DirecTV HD, Time Warner Cable's HD programming, or an HD-DVD player (Blu-Ray's out because the player costs twice as much...and HD-DVD seems to have more of the titles I'd enjoy)? I'd also figure in the factor that I've got a large DVD collection--would an HD-DVD player's upconversion really improve my experience?
