How do I acquire a home theater installation license?

I want to start my own home theater biz but my friend tells me i need a license to install it. how do i get one?

It depends on your state. Some states require an electrical license. Some require a contractors license. Some require both. Some don't require anything.

CEDIA is a good endorsement and will give a wealth of knowledge even to those who may already know a lot. However it's not required.
