I need it for my sreen tv. I would lie to put my subwoofer in the back of the living room, opposite the tv.I heard that it shouldn't be near the tv, that it will work better and have better sound if opposite of the room. Can anyone help?

Search craigslist.org. Not only could you possibly find a wire to buy but you could trade for one as well.

I would go to Home Depot or similar store; they carry speaker cable at a reasonable price. Get the largest cable you can afford (8 or 10 guage) for that long a run. If they don't have cable specifically called "speaker cable" that large, then get any kind of insulated stranded cable in that guage. The only advantage to speaker cable is that it is polarized (one of the two cables is identified so you can keep the connections straight). Polarity for subwoofers is important, but following the markings (+ to +, - to -) does not always give the best results. You should experiment to see which connection works the best. Since that is the case, you really don't need polarization markings on the cable.

You didn't say if the sub woofer was powered or not. If it is not powered, all you need is 50 feet of good speaker cable (12 gauge or smaller). If the Sub is powered, you can find a 50 foot RCA cable anywhere on line. Here are some links:

a sub cable is simply a 75ohm coax line. buy some coax cable and also some f connectors to RCA. Done and done.
