I have a 26" widescreen lcd tv that I want to mount on my bedroom wall, it will be 9.5 feet away from where I plan on sitting to view it.

This may sound kind of silly but what we did was sit down on the couch (or whatever you will be sitting on) and stretch a long piece of string from our eyes to the wall....that's where we put the very center of the lcd tv. This allows for you to have it at the correct height for the most easy and natural viewing.

Set where you usually sit to watch movies and mount it at YOUR eye level.

So the centre of the TV is on eye level, when you are in the position you are going to watch it

Mount it in the apartment above you and go to the library and get some books to read.
Nobody needs TV.
