I'm not asking which is better. I'm asking which should I get. I want to know when both would get discontinued and when microsoft will release the new xbox 360's that don't break down as much. I had bought a gamecube about 2 months before they stopped making them, and I do not want to make that same mistake again. also, when will the psp get discontinued?

I AM NOT INTERESTED IN THE WII OR DS, SO DON'T MENTION THEM.

I have an Xbox 360 downstairs, and the ethernet cord they give you in the box is not long enough so i have purchased a longer one. I'm wondering if I can directly hook it into my linksys router by my computer. Or, does this need to be plugged into a wall ethernet cord. Because when I did this before (into the router) I could not connect do to a problem with the MTU.

I live in two houses, and want to get xbox live gold subscription. Does it go through the ip address not allowing more than one. What im asking is do i need to buy two subscriptions, one for each house or does it just recognize me xbox and allow me to play from both hosues.............as a side question, is it true that by setting up a gamertag you get a free 3 months of xbox live gold?

I only play sports games and first person shooters. I also do not have an hdtv. So, would it be best for me to start with an xbox 360 and get a ps3 in a couple of years? It seems that xbox 360 gets the upper hand on the games (especially sports) that ps3 and xbox 360 release together. I am just worried about the xbox 360 hardware malfunctions. Any unbiased feedback would be appreciated.

I bought a xbox 360 yesterday, and in under an hour it broke with the three lights of death or what ever its called. the guy told me 35% or 360's brake and microsoft only covers the red lights of death. is this true? im returning the 360 today, but im thinking of buying a wii. How often does the wii brake and will nintendo fix it? Which console do you guys recommend? Does the wii controller get boring? Games arent an issue, but the ps3 is out of the question.

If I were to buy one today and it failed and I send it in, they would give me the newest one....right?

The reason I'm askin is I wanna buy one and i heard that they are getting 65nm GPU's in early '08. But if i bought one 2day (one that still is very likely to overheat) and it failed say....in late January (and they had 65nm CPU & GPU's ones out) would they give me the newer cooler, more reliable one? Cuz if ya then there is no real point of waiting right?
...I get that there is always a chance of getting a refurb or something... But to sum up what I'm asking is: When you send a Xbox 360 in do they send back the newest, best one or jus what u had b4?

Any opinions and/or links are valued.....thx

So my parents finally allowed me to get an xbox 360 and i've been reading up about it on the internet so i'll be prepared as to which version to buy and such when go to buy it. Trouble is, i've been reading that the xbox 360 has had many different problems because of overheating and scratched discs etc. Now i'm a bit scared of buying one cuz i dont want to have to invest more money than the actual cost of the system and games in order to repair the system itself. so my questions are:

Do all the xbox 360 systems out there (all versions) still have the same amount of problems as before or has microsoft made sure that the systems are atleast a bit more resistant to encountering such problems like overheating?

Is the xbox 360 elite any better than the core or pro system when it comes to durability and resistance to heat?

Should i buy a cooling fan for my xbox 360 regardless of where i plan to put it?

any input would be much appreciated

i think ps3 is better 4 obvious reasons cause it has the best graphics ever plus u can play blue ray movies surf the internet wirelessley 4 free plus sales have gone up worlwide lets see xbox 360 do better.

Ok people I cant decide betwenn a PS3 or a 360. I played the 360 at my cousns and I really liked it. I played Gears of War but I really want it becuase I want to play Bio-Shock and Halo 3. I played the halo games and there real fun. But I heard for the 360 there are scratch disk problems so I dont want to buy it if it will scracth my games.
For the PS3 I didnt really enjoy it that much. I have a PS2 and I excpeted better from the PS3. But the problem is I want to keep up with the PS2 series such as Kingdom Hearts games and The Jake and Daxter series etc.. So thats why I want the PS3 to keep up with my series but there are not many games for the PS3 then the 360.

SO WHAT SHOULD I BUY?????

Im gonna get an xbox but which one the regular ( not core ) or the elite the only difference i think is that the elite is black and it comes with a hdmi cord. There 100 $ difference with only 1 main thing different. Hdmi is sold seperatly on the regular 1 and they only cost 50$ is the elite woth 100 $ more??? which should i get
