Just look down the list of questions on this page for 350 you risk getting the red ring of death...... Is halo 3 worth the 350 for the console, and the 50 for the game and the 50 for xbox live....Well It's pretty easy to beat the game, just rent the console and the game and you'll finish the game before the weekend is over.... If you really must have halo3 get a used 360 for $150...

You should buy a used one and then buy halo 3,its definitely worth it. If you honestly WANT the brand new xbox360 its fine that'd still be worth it too, judging by what it comes with. For one of the comments above/below....Halo 3 wont be coming out on other systems, its the main reason to own and xbox 360(in my opinion) and microsoft would never let their star product go into rival companies hands.

If you're buying it just for Halo 3, then absolutely no. No game is a worth buying a system just to play it.
But if you're going to get other games, then it's worth it.
You're talking about 350 bucks here. That's not chump change. Are you going to waste 350 bucks just for Halo 3? That's like getting a PC only to play 1 game.

To spend this much money because of one game? What'll happen, when you'll pass that game over'n'over? If you want to spend money on console - get PS3.
Almost a third of XBOX 360 are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 3%.
Let's compare them
PS3 has 7+1 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3x2
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 50 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual DVD (9.5 gb).
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in card reader (except 20 gb version), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $
Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of doom" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.
Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.
In 2008 we'll get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4 and other great exclusives. Here is the great link to the future PS3 releases. http://ps3.ign.com/index/release.html......
PS3 online world will be free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.
In some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".
The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console.
Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years.
I didn't mention Wii, because it's so weak, no point to talk about it.

No-Brainer. OF COURSE it's worth it. You get EVERYTHING you need to start playing in HD and online. It even comes with an HDMI output on the back (if you choose the right one). Plus, you'll get a FREE 30-day trial of Xbox LIVE Gold. Silver is always free, but Gold is mostly for playing online. After the trial time is up you'll have to spend AT LEAST $49.99 a year for Gold.

I know u aren't asking this, but its true.... I strongly recommend getting a PS3, 500$ instead, i know it is more expensive, but it has a built in blu ray disc player, in fact it is the cheapest blu ray disc player on the market, and u get a system that can handle better graphics and since all the games are on blu ray, the games will be better quality, longer, and more fun escentially.... You also get a 60gb hard drive over the xbox's 20 and if u got the hd dvd player add on for the xbox (hd dvd not as good as blu ray) that will bump u up to 530$ (for the system and the hd dvd palyer add on) i just think the ps3 looks expensive, but is overall a cheap product if u look at all the things its offering, and that capabilities for future gaming.
