I just bought a new HDTV with 1080p and I'm contemplating whether to buy a PS3 or just a regular Blu-Ray player. The PS3 has great features for the same price as a regular Blu-Ray player, but I'm not much of a gamer, so I'm wondering if the PS3 upconverts DVD movies to at least 1080i.

I have the 60gb model. The only game i have so far is heavenly sword. Here's the problem. I press the ps button on the controller to turn on the system when it's in standby mode, then i insert heavenly sword into the disc drive and it loads, but right after it says playstation 3 on the screen it kind of freezes. The screen goes blank. I think the ps3 still tries to load it beacause it makes that sound but it won't load. I then press the ps button and choose " quit game". This does nothing. The screen freezes again and the only way to stop the game is to eject it. Then the second time i insert the disc it works. Does th system have a problem or does this just happen?

Okay im selling my ps2 its 3 yrs old and i dont need it cuz im getting my ps3 so im selling it on ebay with 2 controles 2 memory cards and 14 games that are from 2006 till now and i dont no how much to sell it can ne one give me an idea

Ok, for christmas this year im undecided on which console to get. So if you own one give me a suggestion based on the following, thanks. I greatly enjoy playing online thats what i like the most, and alot of my friends play 360 live . I do not really want to spend alot as this is a more secondary system to my wii; to feed my hardcore gamer. so i would get the lowest version of the console because its all thats really needed. I do enjoy good graphics and blu-ray but i dont even have a HD tv. I do like how the PS3 is really reliable, but i take very good care of my systems either way. I like how the PS3 is very strong and will stay around awhile as well as new games reaching their full potential, rather than 360 having like 2 more years before something new, so I get my moneys worth. I also love the epic feeling PS3 brings. I hate the fact 360 makes you buy the wireless USB for internet. (i cant use eth-net cable) What do you guys think?

When i try to click on a file which would open in my pc through the windows media player it does nothing on the PS3 broweser. Is there any way to make it work?? and some vids i have to download to watch instead of watching them in the browser. Any hints to make it all work?? I watch sporting events on the net and through ps3 it would be on my tv. thanks for help

Read some posts indicating that the 60 has issues with the controller loosing the signal, and that the ps2 game play is not as good as it is on the 80. Post also stated that the bluetooth and wifi components in the 60 are not as upto date as the 80's are, also that the 60 was the first, so most of the bugs they worked out in the 80. I reside in Canada, so ps3 in that region I am reffering to. Please help as I only have a few days to decide. Thank you.

i'm looking round different sites on how to connect my ps3 to my wireless router and alot of the stuff they say, i don't understand. like static IP, UPnp, Port forwarding and how different games need different ports.
