The 40GB, 60GB, and 80GB PS3's all have built in WiFi. Your 80GB PS3 can access the internet wirelessly. You need to have a router and you need to already have internet service to connect your PS3 online wirelessly.

If you are having trouble connecting wirelessly, just use the ethernet cable to connect the PS3.

you dont need the ethernet cable.... what you do is go to network setting in settings change it to wireless.... then just mooch off of the wi-fi signals of your neighbors...

but for optimum performance subscribe to a high speed internet service buy a wireless router and then connect the wireless router to cablebox then either use the wireless capability of the ps3 or connect the ps3 directly to the wireless router via ethernet cable....

hope this helped you out!:D

It has WiFi built in but it's not magic. You have to have a wireless router hooked up to the broadband (cable,DSL) and then you have to go into the playstation menu and into the internet settings and run the wireless setup before it will find and use your wireless router.

go to the xmb on your playstation, go to setting then go down to network setting, there will be an option where you can choose the internet from an ethernet cable or wi-fi, switch it to wi-fi and it should work. you have to create a free playstation network account in order to play online.
