My dad found a cell phone but it says Unregisterd SIM card. Is there a way that we can get another SIM card and connect the cell so we can start using it? Or is this phone pretty much useless? Tell me what I can do and where I can get the accessories needed.

I lost my RAZR phone the other day. Tried calling Cingular, but they said there is pretty much nothing they can do. Is there a way to track down who stole the phone? I mean I tried explaining to Cingular that what if this person gets online or calls using my phone? Can't they track down the number associated with the phone? They said no.

MOre important than the phone is the sim card I lost. Although there has been no activity on my cingular account, and I have already gotten a new phone with a new Sim card and transferred the number on it, it would be nice to have the old SIM card back -- would allow me to get my contacts back!

Suppose we have two cell phones, of the same make and same brand. We are within a distance of each other, equivalent to being inside the same cell, but we are far outside a cell network.

Are the transmitters in the phones strong enough to reach each other without the cell tower's repeater/amplifier?

Can they even find each other, without the cell tower's repeater/ amplfier?

Is there something critical within the cell network that decrypts their transmissions for each other?

And no, I haven't even used it once in the three days. Yes, it was fully charged before I put it in my purse.

I talked to the company and they first put in a new battery. Same problem. Then they replaced the phone totally. Same problem.
No, a button is not turned on. I have used the same purse and cell phone pocket for two years with my old phone and no problem like this. I looked in my purse and pulled out ALL my change, moved my credit I use my phone only rarely and it sure is frustrating then when I finally need it, every few days, it's dead. Well, anyone with ideas on this? Does my workplace send out weird electronic vibes.

Recently I received an e-mail foward from a friend that said In February all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies, and these calls will be charged. There is an 888 number that people can call to be put on a Do Not Call list. Could this be a hoax or is this a real way to prevent unwanted calls & charges.
