I have an N73 myself and i havent come across that problem. Are you sure you havent copied from phone to sim or vice versa? because that usually displays the name & number twice. You need to copy all to sim or to phone then overwrite not merge. If you put in on the sim you only get basic info, put it on the phone and you can use pics for contacts and add addresses and emails.

this is most likely because when you saved all your contacts from your old phone to your SIM card, you had multiple entries per each name. The SIM card can only hold one name and one entry for that name. If you had for example Joe's home phone, cell e-mail etc, when you save that to your SIM you will see 3 entries with the same name. Best way to solve this is open your Outlook, enter your contacts, then connect your N73 to your PC and sync it with outlook. All the entries will go to your phone's memory just as you see them in Outlook. Once you do that, backup your phone so if you need to reinstall firmware or something you can always restore the contacts using the Sync option.
