I use mine about once a fortnight at most, I think the last time I used it was early December. Over I year I might clock up 20 minutes on it. I mostly have it for emergencies. The phone itself cost £20 in 2000 so it is now almost years old (almost an antique in phone terms).
My sister almost lives through hers - she has a contract phone and sends at least 50 texts a day. I could not be bothered to do that!
If my phone ever breaks 50:50 I won't bother to get a new one.

Some of the people I know think that I do not own a mobile phone as I rarely switch it on. I find the damn thing very intrusive and use it only for emergencies.
As for texts, I have never sent one from a phone.

Thats kind of odd but if you really dont need one your lucky cause it can be expensive!! My friends phone bill was like $300 though mine is usually $50-$60. I use my cell phone cause we dont have a phone line in my house. I've been to a few places were there is no phone line cause everyone uses there cell phone. But it sucks cause if I need to be on the phone for a long time I cant because I only have few minutes and if I go over its soooo expensive.

No I would imagine you are are not alone.
I have a mobile phone and I can get through £5 credit in about 3 months.
No one texts or calls me (no violins pls )
This is not answering your question but I would quite happily donate mine to charity.

My mate who lives over 200 miles away doesn't own one because she doesn't know how to use it!!, my mum didn't have one until last year because i forced her to have one, cos I'm deaf and i wanted her to text me if she wanted me, but since she had the mobile she still does not know how to use texts!! so the only way i advised her is to ring my mobile, "mum" comes up on the screen, i knew she wanted me, then i go over to her house, so i would say yes your odd!!

I'm 14 and just got a phone. It's amazing how much you grow to depend on it after just a month or so. I do have a couple of friends that are holding out though =)

There are others like you. I resisted for years after getting fed up with overhearing endless pointless conversations and people calling each other even when they were in the same house. I relented and got one, only to find that people kept phoning me up. So I got rid of it. Now I get to live in splendid grumpy peace.
