Or are they an invention of Hollywood? Are they easy to make or buy in the UK? I do not have criminal intent, I'm just curious and a fledgling electronics and radio buff.

Thanks

My children want a playstation for xmas. They are 6 and 9 years old. I only can afford about £150.oo (sterling) and from the answers I have had, it seems that its a bit of a waste of money to buy a PS2. I would love a ps3 or a Wii but they are too expensive for me.
If I buy a PS2 with one controller, there is a package which includes 5 games that I know they'd enjoy, for £130 plus £9.99 for an extra controller. Should I bother, or not?

I know nothing about these playstations but everyone I have looked at comes with a "dual shock controller". Will I still have to buy another controller so that two kids can play together?
