I've created a site with golive, it has a premium area in a seperate directory. I need to create a login page. Someone told me to create a backend database (odbc) to upload to mysql server, I can't afford ms Access I'd like to download a free database utility which is as useful as ms access, I'd need you to tell me how to use it to. I already posted the job to scriptlanc.com, but am in a hurry. Thanks (my host is PHP enabled)

i'd like to know how to copy file from one directory to a second directory which has already been created. i have this example TestBanking.java file from the resources\mod03_types\ directory to src\com\mybank\test\ directory. Im using this comand on the Comand Promt window copy ..\..\resources\mod03_types\TestBanking.java src\com\mybank\test\ but when i try it it gives me error mesage specified path not found. Can some one please help.

I'm considering writing an application for both the PC and a MAC, most people I've spoken to have said, each one needs to be programmed seperately, but that seems very time consuming. I understand there are toolkits that can be used for both. For example how is something like a polished app Firefox written for both? What are the standard tools used for application development. On a PC I know its Visual C++, VB.NET (or .NET framework) on a Mac I hear its objective C , is there a better way to just write one codebase?

I need to take 4 more credit hours at Blinn College, either in 'c programming' or 'java' for my degree. I am a history major, so i probably will not be using it anytime. Question: which is easier to take and comprehend: c programming (not C++), or java?

I have tried templates and loads of website builders but it is not enough! I need a good website for people to look at!! Would someone be able to build me one please?

It will be my personal website, so I will need to be able to edit it easily. Maybe by FTP or a WebHost. I also want NO ads. Don't worry about the domain name, I have a domain name ready to be published.

If you want, you can have your name at the bottom of all pages saying that you have built it! Thanks!!

I am taking a course in web page design. I am stuck with my homework. I followed the instructions, created the page in notepad put in all the code that was required saved it with the extention html. However when I put in text and press the refresh button on my web page text file on the C drive it shows up totally blank. What is wrong? Thanks so much

I am most confused about the "action" part. In a tutorial book that I have, it says, "In the Action text box, ( in the property inspector after I have selected the form in my document window) type the URL of the GCI or other script that will be processing the form.

What is a GCI? And how do I get this URL. My ISP only gave me an example. As you see below.

This is the "sample" code I was sent by my ISP. What does the "action" line referr to here. I know it's just an example but I am lost.

The JCL has a select statement that gets the number and places it onto a file. It later inserts the number after it increments it by 1. I can transfer the number to a file but how can I get the number to a symbolic? Thanks.

When I try to upload, I get the message that the ftp connection or password can't be found. I go to site manager and test the connection. If it doesn't work I retype the password and the ftp address. Sometimes a password box pops up, and I type the password. Yet it doesn't work. Then I wait one hour, turn on the computer, then I can upload successfully without doing anything. Is it my internet connection? I'm able to go on-line, however, when I'm having uploading problems.
