I need to take 4 more credit hours at Blinn College, either in 'c programming' or 'java' for my degree. I am a history major, so i probably will not be using it anytime. Question: which is easier to take and comprehend: c programming (not C++), or java?

I would go with JAVA as it handles alot of things automatically that C or C++ require you to do manually. These are things like memory management, handling strings and things like that, that you don't really need to know the mechanics of.

With Java, any program you write will run on most any computer, and it's actually easier to write a program that does something useful with JAVA.

Good luck,

The languages themselves are quite similar but my personal opinion is that Java is easier to understand.

My school usually starts with Java. It's a decent, straight forward language that in my opinion easy to learn. C is a little bit lower level, but still easily learnable.

i prefer java may be because i know java better then c,
anyway java can be used to create softwares mechine based and web based and java scripts can be used to add more dynamic styles to a website...and it is easy to create GUI (Graphical User Interface) using java..the latest version of Netbeans provide a GUI java builder, which means to create a GUI no more coding is required..
