Hi,
I'm using windows xp's native cd writing program to write some data files to a cd. the only problem is that when the data is written and the disc ejected, the cd is only recognised and readable on that pc (and I, guess, others with RW drives) I need to send copies of the this disc to a few people and I can't just assume that they are using a cd rw drive. On other systems I have used, there has been an option during the write process to choose if the disc should be kept open for additional recording or closed so that it can be read by any pc. do you kknow how do do this with windows xp's own program so that i can send these discs out confident that any pc can read them?

Thanks
Paul

I have the Britannica Encyclopedia. I was wondering if there were only a certain number of computers you could download it to? Or is it pretty much unlimited?

Seen a great deal going on this at

http://base.google.com/base/a/1339604/D2935485968588083853

I have it already, so don´t need it, but anyone who needs a copy on the cheap, Im happy to put you onto a good deal.

The question is, which version do you prefer, home or pro. I think the pro, what about you ????

hey.
everytime i 'uninstall' an application in OS X 10.4, i just drag the application from the app's folder in the finder to the trash.

but when i do a spotlight search for the application i just deleted, it shows up with folders related to the application i just uninstalled.

how do you 'officially' uninstall any application (including 3rd party) in Mac OS X 10.4

I'm using software that doesn't allow me to change the default settings, and it doesn't appear that I can put some of the data on one DVD and some of it on another. It's all or nothing, and truthfully, I would really like to just copy the entire disc onto one DVD. Are there DVD-R's out there that are larger than 4.7 Gigs? If so, what are they called and where would I find them?

This error is generated when opening Yahoo chat rooms. A prior suggestion was to lower my firewall setting. The firewall isnt the problem. I have a HP pavilion dv5000 laptop. MY toshiba doesnt do this. Also a suggestion was to send feedback to intel. I did that. Any folks out there seen this error and know how to fix it?
