Ok, I have a DVD here, (" The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy") Just an example it happens to all the DVD's I put in to my computer. Anyways, when I put the DVD in not only does my computer not recognize that it's a DVD, but it doesn't even see that there is a disk in the drive! Oter than that though there are no other problems. It only fails to recognize DVD's. anyone have any idea how to solve this. Also, I don't havea program spesifically ment to play DVD's.

When Microsoft Windows runs out of RAM to use for programs, it uses the hard drive as temporary storage for program information. Because this temporary storage is not "real" memory, it is referred to as virtual memory. While virtual memory keeps the system from crashing, using virtual memory slows the system down, even if you have a fast processor and powerful hard drive. could some body please explain that. how and why does it happen?

I use a Dell laptop, with Windows XP and sometimes the cursor just decides to start moving upwards contineously for no obvious reason

Then the symptom dissapears by itself no matter what I try to do to stop the cursor from sliding upwards (i.e. Escape key, clicking the right or left mouse buttons.. etc)

It seams it is not only Dell or Windows XP that has this problem as I had the same comment from others who use Toshiba and other brands.

This is a repost of my question. I made a ppt presentation. It was composed of slides of old, good times that mean a lot to us. It was accompanied by a song that played throughout the slide show. It was lovely!
My problems started when I tried to send it as email. The pics went but the music file did not accompany them. Why?

No, it doesnt work. I tried saving the pps and the sound file in the same folder. Then I attached them to the email but, because they are two separate files, they have to be opened separately and run independantly of each other. You cannot attach a folder to an email, only the contents of the folder which have to be attached as serarate files Somewhere there must be someone who has done this, if its possible, that is! I liked the answer from Beadles Arms but as I said, it didnt work.

Help! You have me confused! I'll tell u exactly what I did. I added a sound file ( a song from my saved music) to play from the second slide right through to the last one (26th). This it does on my pc. When I save the presentation, I save it in my documents just as it is. It doesnt give me an option to save the pics part and then the sound part - just an option to save the whole thing as one. I dont understand what u mean about sending the sound file too, and also what u say about keeping them in the same folder. How would I do that? When I insert that sound file into my presentation does it not then become one entity, pics + sound?
The song is a very important part of this and it is not the same without the soundtrack. If there is any way you can convey to me how to do this I'll be in ur debt 4ever! How can I save the sound file when MS doesnt give me that option?

When I learned PPT i was taught to add a sound file that would play throughout the whole presentation. I thought that this then became an integral part of the presentation and didnt have to be treated differently. I wouldnt know how to send a sound file on its own. And if I did, how would it link up and play at the right time in the presentation? It plays like a dream on my pc but only the pics arrived when the email was sent. I didnt learn how to send a presentation with sound ( an outside sound, not the ppt options like drumrolls etc.) as an email. Can it b done or am I wasting my time? If u can do it will u tell me how, step by step, please? I use Yahoo mail for my emails and not Outlook express. Could the fault be here? Thanks in advance for all your help with my questions!

I was just wondering which do you think is better? Macintosh or PC. my art teacher says that Mac is better. My sister who works in text support says that Mac is just good for graphics like if your in to a business involving CAD(computer aided design). she also said that PC is good for everything else. What is your opinion, what do you have and if you had both, which did you think was better?
