will i still get faster internet if i still use internet explorer or do i have to browse on foxfire?

I validated and installed ie7 on my pc. I installed, and it asked me to restart.

I restarted and nothing appears. I searched for ie7 files but theres nothing to connect me to the internet on ie7.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox right now. I disabled my spyware and anti virus when I installed as well. I have Windows Xp service pack 2.

I tried this several times, and the same thing happened even when I tried IE 5 and IE6 .

What can I do when I download install and restart to my computer to see the E icon so I can click it and log onto Yahoo Dsl internet with Internet Explorer?

Someone please help me. Thanks.

I want to stop some programs from constantly running by going into my task manager and unselecting them in processes, but I have no idea which ones i can keep. is there an online directory or listing to tell you what they do? and also, when i try to turn some of them off, it gives me a warning saying it could be harmful... so does that mean definatly DONT do it, or is it just a normal warning?

I bought a CD on eBay, and I got a burnt CD. I expected the CD to be from the actual company that produces that software, not something he burnt on his computer. I've re-read the auction many times, over and over, trying to see if I missed something.

But the auction doesn't say anywhere that is a burnt CD or a new one, but you'd figure it's a new one.

I want to give him a negative feedback, but I have 100% possitive feedback. I'm affraid he'll give me negative feedback back from giving him a bad one.

Should I give him negative feedback?

I borrowed my newly turned 17 yr old daughter's laptop to do some work and when I clicked on the browser bar to to see if google was already there, 2 porn sites were also. Would she have had to actually type these in or could they be there from going to another website? I have typed in something like youtube.com and a porn site came up on the screen. Could it be something like this?? It wouldn't be her norm (or so I would think) and she denies going to it.

sold something that required collection and the last contact i had from the buyer was them telling me they paid through paypal and to phone in the evening to arrange collection.

i replied saying "thanks for payment, can be collected any day this week but phone the day before to arrange time"

didnt hear anything for a week and then i contacted them again askign them to call to arrange collection.

still not heard anything and its 3 weeks since the auction ended


i dont feel like it is my responsibility to arrange them picking it up after the emails i sent them. do you agree?? would you say it is buyers or sellers responsibility to phone to sort collection times out?

so i like websites that can teach me interesting junk. how-to sites, common knowledge i may have missed, not so common knowledge, peculiar news... alot of sites i run into are really stupid and start listing lame trivia facts and stuff that just isnt all that interesting. i dont want to here about stuff that isnt useful. im looking for things that make me think--that i can apply. those of u who also spend too much time surfing the web and being frustrated with all the useless junk taking up space prob kinda get wat i mean. my interests are actually really wide, so im just looking for lots of suggestions here. tell me ur fav finds that i may not know of. thanks much!!!

We have a westel wireless dsl modem with verizon dsl. One of the four ethernet ports works but the other three don't. The one that works has a linksys wireless router connected to it. This works on a mac that is upstairs.
The other pcs that don't work are in the same room as the modem that is in the basement.
When the router cable was swapped out for an ethernet cable (from one of the non-working computers) the computer still receives and sends packets(at 100 mps) but when a browser is opened, the browser says no connection was made. Also, when I tried to ping on the pc through the command prompt it could not find the internet connection.

Any solutions would be much appreciated.

I have a pc laptop, Xp windows. This just happened today so not sure what is causing it. I use Internet explorer, I think 6 maybe. When I open up a window then close it, it gives me this error message now, it will close it but have to answer if I want to send the error or cancel. Then if any form of pop up comes up (i have pop up blocker) I mean more like you can open your address book to add addresses or open a blue line link, if you close that extra window it closes everything, even the main window. I can not open my address book, check in the names then put insert or it closes all he windows. If I click a blue line, that opens a new window to the link, when I close it , it closes all of them. Anyone have this problem before and how to correct it?

I did install Norton virus scan but was a few weeks ago and this just started now.

There are too many of them and can cause them to launch a spy ware system and virus to your computer. They should be banned and companies be heavily fined.
