It seems you can't buy a new printer that uses a serial port, they are all USB. I was hoping to find a relatively cheap adapter to use a USB printer with my PC's serial printer port.

What is it about most printer ink cartrages, that costs the manufacturer $ 30 to make? seems the price is way bigger, than the amount of Ink contained in side.

Is it more ink or a higher performance?

There is something like a sponge in the right side of the printer, where the ink cartriges are being cleaned, I think that "sponge" is full of ink becouse spots are apearing on my printed pictures, and lines, and things like that, how can I clean it by myself, without taking it to a service?

I took my empty HP2600 Printer color cartridge to a recycle cartidge place for the first time. The owner refilled the cartridge while I waited for it. He said that it will not show that it is full, but it is. He did a test print from the printer. He had about ten different types of printers there. I came home and it print fine; all of the colors are good. How and when will I know that cartridge is running low? The picture on my printer before would show the level is getting low. Is this true when you refill a cartridge that it does not show the level any more? Or, did he not refill it correctly.

I have a generic computer and am using Win XP Home. The P4VXASD2 motherboard manual makes mention of both USB1 and USB2. I just received an HP Photosmart printer. The manual states that it connects to the computer using a USB2 cable. Does that mean that all I need is a USB2 cable for this printer to work or is it more involved. I mean do I have to use the correct connector on the computer or enable USB2 use? As you can tell, I am not that computer knowledgeable. I can print pictures using the camera memory card only, but I would like to print edited images from my computer also. I hope someone can understand my question. My e-mail is ajmujica@verizon.net.

I have the instal disk but each time I attempt to install the software, I get an error message that the install was unsuccessful as the driver could not be found. Printer is connected to USB port. OS is MS 2000.

Strange how I printed a black&white photo and I have no problem, however the color pictures that I printed are not as clear as when I printed them before, and I get a message that the dpi is less than 150. For some reason the computer is just not reading the black cartridge even though I put it in correctly. Maybe I got a dud?

I'm wasting, not only paper, but also ink (very expensive and not refillable, which I think is totally idiotic!!), time and patience. It would be a lot cheaper to have the pictures sent to a company to do them for me, but I have my own way of doing them.

How many papers normally can be printed with one ink bottle?
How can you recycle the ink bottle for free of charge?
Can you use the tricolor ink bottle to print photos (or you have to use its special ink bottle)?
