my mom used to buy those ink refill kits online. they worked the first couple times, but after that it was a waste of time and money! don't bother buying those. you're better off buying the "refurbished" cartridges online, which cost about half as much as the actual name brand ones in the store.

I consider myself a pretty savy and have high technical smarts. But on my first and only attempt to refill an inkjet cartridge, turned into disaster. Despite being very careful I had ink all over my hands (which is hard to wash off) and all over the table. I followed the directions exactly and the end result was that 1 color barely came out and the other two were varying shades and not very bright. I wound up trashing it.

I also had a black cartridge I tried. I figured, hey its just black, this has got to work. It wasn't as light as before I started, but it was in no way close to the quality of a new cartridge. I chucked up the loss and swore I'd never try that again, lol.

don't do the refill thing, it is best to just go with the OEM, just by from the manufacturers otherwise if you do the refill and it breaks open the manufacturers will not pay to fix it because it will void the warranty.

erm! yeah, do it all the time! just gotta use a little common sense along with being careful and following the instructions! Also, one time the black ink was kinda dry so I added a drop of water and it kinda worked a little better!
