I bought a monitor today out of the box from circuit city. Since there was no box I got a discount so I went for it. Anyway I have the cable hooking my laptop up to the monitor and the screen on the monitor says "check cable signal" which I have. Am I supposed to install it or something? I dont have any directions because it didnt come with the box.

I'm using the resolution of 1024 by 768 for my 15" laptop. However, when I surf the internet, the content of the Window (eg. font size) is too small to be viewed. I've tried to reduce the resolution but everything was too big and looked weird. So, do you have any idea to increase the size of the Window's content, especially font size, without changing its resolution?

So I was playing this game, Ghost Recon, and suddenly my computer froze. I removed the disk, rebooted, and everything's working ok except for some reason there are these thick black vertical lines on each side of the monitor. It makes everything smaller. What is this? Can I get rid of it? It makes me nervous; this is a brand new lap top.
