i bought my e- machine from best buy in 2003 and all of a sudden it won't turn on at all like it doesn't have any power or something. I took it to circuit city and they checked it for free for syware, viruses ,adware, worms etc.. but that was clean they reported that the power supply was bad and they said that was common for the power supply to go out on this type of computer also because i live in the desert.Well i wanted a second opinion so i took it to best buy where i bought it from and they checked it for free and they opened the tower and saw that there was alot of dust ,debri and dirt collected inside and they told me more then likely the motherboard burned up because of all the dirt collected inside. she told me that i should have brought my comp in to be cleaned out every 8 mo to a yr. i had no clue that my comp needed this type of maintenance. she also told me that i should just buy a new comp now because a motherboard will cost as much as a new e-machine help!!! any ideas?

I would like to type my emails in comic sans and blue color but I have to set it each time. How can it remain blue with comic sans and with a larger font. Is this possible?

My power went out from a storm, and after the power came back on, one of my computers won't turn on. I opened it up to see if anything smelled fried, but I didn't smell anything. Could it be the power supply? Oh, and I'm not sure if it was already like this, but one of the plugs inside the computer is unplugged. It is "p8" I'm not sure if it was already like that though, because I can't find anywhere to plug it in.

Resolution is actually stuck at 640x480. I had to re install my operating system yesterday and now I cant change my screen resolution. Before the re installation I was using 1024x768. I located the list all modes option, but 1024x768 isnt listed. how can I change the resolution? I have programs for which I need a higher resolution.

I have a Toshiba A70-RT1 laptop that has an output of 19V, 4.74A which needs a new power supply cord. I'm having trouble finding the same cord for replacement, so I wondered if a 19V, 6A output would be compatible, or if it would damage the laptop.

The iternet has been around for a little more than 15-16 years (in masive popularity at least) I was trying to come up with a list of people who became famous because of the internet. Either somethinhg they did that made them famous, a website they built that caused celeberity status.....or even a photo or video that was put on the web and spread like wild fire that caused them to become famous....

I have windows me and had to reformat. My dvd-rom will no longer play dvd's, but it will play cd's. I don't have the software to reinstall my dvd-rom and I'm unsure of the manufacturer. Does anyone know what to do?
