My power went out from a storm, and after the power came back on, one of my computers won't turn on. I opened it up to see if anything smelled fried, but I didn't smell anything. Could it be the power supply? Oh, and I'm not sure if it was already like this, but one of the plugs inside the computer is unplugged. It is "p8" I'm not sure if it was already like that though, because I can't find anywhere to plug it in.

Yes it could be your power supply. If you have another one to test with, this can answer your question. Just be sure it is the right type of plugs (ie: If ATX, make sure you try with another ATX). When you turn on the computer, do you get any lights at all, or does the CPU fan come on at all? These can also help determine if the power supply is dead. If you don't see any indication of power, then try replacing the power supply. If it is not the power supply, you may have to start looking at the motherboard and/or CPU.
As for the p8, this is just a power molex for cd/dvd drives, and hard drives, etc. Your computer comes with a number of them, but most likely you would never use them all.

Simply do not mess with the cables inside. If there is one unplugged, it is for sure it should stay that way. Just make sure the power cord is securely plugged INTO the computer and into the wall outlet.
Let's do something. Go to the switch and turn on the light. ... Does it work? Hmmm, I don't see anything. Maybe it is because you are far from me.
Well, check if the outlet is working. Plug in something else, like a lamp.

Take a look at your surge protector, that probobly blew during the storm. Quick check is to plug the compouter directly into the wall and see if that works. Otherwise, reseat all the power connections on the motherboard. If that dont work, it is time to get a new power supply

Try a new power strip, and try a new power supply if you can. If it went out during a storm then it easily could have been fried. Usually there's no external damage to let you know that it got fried.

first of all make sure that all the cables which is going out of the power supply are in their right places . if this doesn't work try using another power supply , and make sure that the RAM is working properly because your problem may harm the RAM slot .
