I need help with sharing files between computers. I have a laptop connected wirelessly downstairs, and 2 desktops upstairs, one of which is also connected wirelessly. I can share files between the two desktops, but I cant with my desk top. When I go to My Network Places with my laptop, I am unable to see any other computer on the network. The internet works fine on my laptop, but for some reason it doesnt see the toher computers. Your help would be much appreciated.

I have software designed for windows 98, or Me that gives me an error when I try to run on Windows XP (which is the only OS I have now although I was running the software successfully on Win ME before updating my OS). The error says my version of Windows does not comply with the requirements of the software. Is there a way I can make this program run anyway? How?

I live in a metro area of about 200,000 and I cannot get DSL. I flagged down a Qwest worker once and he said the CO is close enough, they just haven't installed the cards yet and that they're "hard to come by." Are these cards really hard to get and, if so, why? Qwest could literally take 100% of the hi-speed business in this area from the local cable franchise if they wanted to, due to DSL's much lower prices. I don't get why they would not more actively pursue this.

the e drive in my puter, will not work, the light flickers in the cd tray, it does not show even in the computer. sometimes when i turn the puter off and back on, it will be back in. just comes and goes.

my son was the last person to use the computer. it is located in the hottest part of our home and when I turn it on I get a black screen stating "keyboard failure" then it flashes to more info and says it will start windows normally in 30 seconds only to be followed by a blue screen that says some sort of boot error...

my question is...do you think it's worth having someone come take a look? or did it totally overheat and it's time for a new one?
I looked at the back and it was totally caked with dust bunnies and when you power it on it does not sound like the fan is even running now....barely makes noise...
We have had 95 to 100 degree weather. I have told my kids to turn it off when they are not using it but I have found it a few times where the fan is just running like a jet and no one is using it.

Any help is appreciated.
