What is the difference between DVD-RW and DVD+RW? Can we write data on a DVD?

The -R and the +R are two different standards. However they both are DVDs.
You can store data on both standards. However you need to get a DVD writer that will use one or the other or both.

And yes you can write data on a dvd disc.

They are different types of DVD media.
