the e drive in my puter, will not work, the light flickers in the cd tray, it does not show even in the computer. sometimes when i turn the puter off and back on, it will be back in. just comes and goes.

might me a faulty CD drive or loose wire in side the box

If the light is flickering, that tells you that either the drive is broken, or the cables might not be plugged in well enough

Go to Add/Remove Programs, uninstall it, then restart your computer. I've had to do that twice since November 05, don't know why either. But it does work.

faulty ide cable, fault in the PSU, fault on the ide controller is plugged into on the motherboard, fault with the drive itself
fault in windows.
best idea is to try and other cable, or with another drive using same cables and test it that way.

Nothing in each of those drives is active. Your computer could be confused.

first check you bios and reset you bios. check it display your drive. it does not work then you erase you drive and creat again....
