I have a usb external hard drive. I want it to be part of my network. I do not want to share the hard drive through a computer. I want it to be stand alone. How can i connect it to my router? I have seen ethernet adapter how they are intended to convert ethernet to usb. Will it work backwards?

I have an Emachines T6212 and for some odd reason, the Cd burner stopped working. It is a TSST-CORP, model unknown. I recently put in a new drive connector cable, but that does not help. It can read CD and DVD fine, but iTunes and other burning apps lock up when I try to burn. Please help!

My photoshop works fine, but when it comes to type something, nothing really happens, it's like if my keyboard is dead or something, but my keyboard works perfectly with all the other programs I have, and plus I'm typing this right now so I really don't know what is going on. I've tried many things that I can think of to solve this problem but have had no luck.. I reinstalled the program many times and NOTHING :( :( please... Can anyone please help me?? Thanks

My husband (MR. KNOW-IT-ALL) recently installed a DVD?RW drive in our CPU, he took the old CD/DVD drive out and put the new one in its place and put the old CD/DVD drive in a slot below it. Now whenever we turn the computer on, the old drive keeps opening and closing on its own. The only way to get it to stop is to hold it shut, no joke!
Also the new DVD/RW drive has a tendency to crash every now and then.
Could anyone tell me what could be causing this and how to fix it. Thanks very much.

I am getting into digital photography and would like to know what the best editing program is. I currently work with Jasc (Correl) Paint Shop Pro but want to know if there is a better program then that. I have heard of and worked with a demo of Adobe Photoshop CS2 and wanted to ask if it was better. Or is there a program better then both? Or should I stick whith Paint Shop Pro or maybe use both that and Photoshop?

I am running a relativley new computer (purchased about a year ago) on WIndows XP Home Edition. The system has a 2.8 GHz CPU and 512MB of RAM. It's not the best system on the market, but definetley a solid computer. The weird thing is, sometimes it starts lagging. To the point where it lags when I'm playing Solitare! The baffling part is, I am almost always not running more than one program at a time when it does it, so I don't think it's an issue with RAM. My system can be completey "idling" (no applications running, I'm at the Desktop) and it will still be laggy when I try to open a folder, even. As part of an investigation as to why a perfectly good system would spontaneously transform into a piece of cr@p, I have looked at the Task Manager's Processes tab and found that when "idling" my system uses between 0 and 4% of CPU usage. When it runs badly, it cycles between 4 and 8%. I'm tired of having to re-start my computer when I want to do something like play Solitare. Help please!

I have received six intrusion alerts where someone has tried to get into my system today. I've never received a single one before. So far everyone of them has been blocked, as far as I know. I traced the last one to an Internet cafe in China. How come I am getting so many? Does it have anything to do with me being on Yahoo! more now that I am doing this answers thing?
