What is the last thing you had done before you lost the sound? Reinstall the sound drivers from your motherboard cd. See whether you have accidentally disabled the onboard sound from the BIOS settings, if disabled then enable that. If that does not help re format the HDD and reload the OS and the sound drivers. Above all fail then get a PCI sound card, push it in any PCI slot, disable the onboard sound card in BIOS and install the new card's drivers.

check ur speaker connector.. all the plugs are well connnected ?
in go to volume control and unclick the mute
