I'm going to be setting up as a private investigator and need a 'normal' vehicle which preferabley can double as a family vehicle if necessary. Size really does not matter, as long as its medium sized upwards and looks normal with blacked out windows.
I've been thinking about land rovers, but don't want to pay the 4x4 tax! (Sorry, daughter of a scottish accountant!). Then I thought about vans, but not sure yet.
Any suggestions?

Someone told me that certain cars have certain ways of saying hello to another vechicle of the same make, while you drive by them. Has anyone ever heard of this? What would the hello sign for a mercury mariner be? a honda accord?

I bought the car in March with a years tax, which runs until the end of January 2007, but just noticed at the weekend that nothing is filled in, and it doesn't have a PO stamp on it. Am I "handling stolen goods"?

I know this is hard to believe but there is a small percentage of idiots here that think that. I dont see them so much nowadays but I did see a moron doing this the other day. Our traffic lights here have small RADAR units on the top which activate the light sequence when cars approach. when these first appeared many years ago idiots would flash their lights at them and they would change! duh. it detected your car stupido. radar has nothing to do with light. Try telling that to some people though, they get quite angry. Angry at themselves mainly, for being so stupid for so long. This myth is passed from fool to fool via the gift of "look! it worked" This drives me up the wall, has anyone else encountered this stupidity or something similar?

Gm, Dodge, Ford have some of the most ugly cars on the road today. There are very few of the Big 3 that are cool and sporty. But come on, I cannot believe people buy these things? And they drive around in them wanting to be noticed. "COME ON","It has a Hemi so you can get it home and hide it faster, before your friends tell you its a STATION WAGON!"
