I dont allow open containers of liquid, or food in my car. No not even with the kids.
My parents didnt let my brother or I eat and drink in the car. We didnt have to have DVD, CD, MP3, or video games in the car. All this crap they stick in cars today to "occupy" the kids is a bunch of crap.
If you want to occupy your kids, give them a book to read, talk to them, let them play "I spy" out the window. If they are too young to read, give them a picture book, a stuffed animal, etc.
I think its crazy how parents will load up the minivan, or SUV with toys, food, pop, games, and all sorts of other crap just to get to and from the store, or run around town.
Evan on vacation we only were each allowed to bring two small quiet toys or games to play with in the car.
Magnetic checkers is always a good one, or dry erase tic-tac-toe.
