I have a Yahama PW80 (2001). The manual calls for 1 qt. Yamalube 2-S or air-cooled 2-stroke engine oil. Can't get the Yamaha oil. Will any 2-cycle engine oil work? I think the oil is supposed to mix automatically with the gas. stroke vs. cycle ?

This will be my first bike. It will be used mostly for commuting, so comfort and mileage are important, but I also want something good looking for cruising around town. I have narrowed it down to these two. Looks wise, I prefer the Hyosung. Has anybody ridden both who can tell me the strengths and weaknesses of each?

It's a cool movie, great affects & Nich Cage rides a Killer chopper. Sam Elliott & Peter Fonda, a couple of bikers, also in the movie. Pretty cool message overall too.

As bikers and trikers will be aware, trikes come in two main flavours:

1. motorbike-based, a modified motorcycle with the two rear wheels driven on a swing-arm mounted live axle or with IRS,

2. car-engined, usually with a VW flat-four motor located behind the rear axle.

Dynamically, what is the ideal trike? A rear or front engined machine? Any other dis/advantages to bear in mind?

Trikes appeal to my wierd tastes. I'm trying to narrow it down by considering the pros and cons of bike or car engined machines!

Thanks for your help!

I have a CBR 600 F on a P reg (1997). I am having a few mechanical problems with it. I just need to know what maybe causing the problem.

1) I have had the battery replaced but it is flat as a pancake
2) Have managed to jump start the bike, warmed it up (with the choke on) but as soon as i turn it of the bike dies.
3)The bike will not "tick over" unless it is constantly revved up or the choke is on.

It has been suggested by a friend that the alternater may have gone. I know the alternater charges the battery, but i thought both the battery and alternater were no longer used to run the engine once the bike was started.

Any ideas.

My front brakes on my 1990 vfr 750 have been sticking ever since I changed the pads. I am preety sure that I put them back together correctly, but since then the piston in the calipers dont appear to be returning correctly as they appear to be staying on. I hadnt changed the brake fluid for a year and a bit so I thought that I would change that to see if it helped but it doesnt seem to have. Due to its age (70 000 kms which is about 45000 mi) I thought that it might be the calipers sticking but it is strange that it has only happened since I changed the pads. Any suggestions? I wanted to know what people think before I go and take it apart again. Thanks in advance to all who reply.
