The Idea of sending the 'Old Lady' down to start it for you is a good one.
Even if you hooked up a remote trigger to crank the starter, consider the following:
1) someone has to turn the gas on
2) what about the choke
3) I have to pump the throttle a couple times to prime the carb if you do as well ,no remote will do that.
Cars with remote start are controlled by a processor .
Cool idea ,but I don't see it happening, good luck though.

--A remote start would only work with a fuel injected bike or on some scooters. Because they have automatic "chokes". Fuel injected bikes use the computer, oxygen sensor and temp sensor to determine how rich of a fuel mixture is needed to start the bike.
--Some scooters have "electric chokes". When the choke senses the temperature increase from the engine heating up, it slowly disengauges.
--Wait...you could hook up a remote start on a bike with a manual choke. When you turn off the bike, turn on the choke. This way it'll be ready for start up. But then you'll have to monitor the bike so it doesn't run rich when it warms up and foul the spark plugs.
--You still want a remote start? Go around to auto parts stores, automotive alarm installers, new car dealerships. They'll be able to tell you where to buy the remote start. Either follow the directions and install it yourself, or bring your bike to a motorcycle repair shop and they'll be able to do it for you.
--I don't recommend using one. Once the bike is started, anyone can just drive off with your bike. A car, the doors could be locked to keep people out.

Someone must make one. Doesn't sound like a real high demand or popular item though.

Why would anyone want let alone need one? It's not like you need to warm it up in the winter or cool it down in the summer like one would do with a cage.

Still, it seems like a bad idea. Some idiot will see that a bike is running with no rider in the are and might be tempted to tamper with it in some way. Lock the throttle wide open, put it in gear, or who know what?

You would need to disengage the wiring to the clutch, if you have to pull in the clutch to start your bike. Some have it some don't.

But my question is besides the coolness factor, WHY would you want this, if you want it to warm up your bike in cold weather, If you cant take the cold while your not moving, what makes you think you can take it when you are moving?

Give the keys to your old lady and tell her to run down the street in front of you and get your bike started before you get there.

I used to do this. But then one day she hopped on and rode away before I could get there.

Beeeyotch! I know you're reading this! Bring me back my bike! And my CD's!

Unless you want to experiment, it would be cheaper buying one instead of making it!
