i need to replace the battery that is under the seat but it isn't a regular screw that attaches the seat. it is a hexagonal hole if that makes any sense

The original Allen wrench is commonly called a hex key now.
Don't forget that Japanese bikes are METRIC.

Almost forgot.. charge the battery BEFORE you put it in.

It's a very common way of mounting with this kind of bolts.
If your bike has it's toolkit 2 or 3 of these spanners should be there. If not take the size of the hole and ask for help at the hardware store.

Allen wrench thats what its called, it probaly the standard size go to the hardware store and get a set of allen wrenchs. Plus i own a suzuki and the seat just comes off with a clip not a wrench but yourns is newer then mine
