Nissan

I need to remove and replace both front axles (half shafts). My shop book tool shows a special tool is needed to protect the oil seal when reinstalling the axle. My question is: is the same tool used for both sides?

I need to purchase the tool(s) and need a source and part number(s) to order. I have a Kent-Moore catalog and it shows #J-34296-1 Left side and #J-34297-1 Right side tools. Are both needed?

I have a 2006 350Z and at my last oil change I was told I was 4 1/2 quarts low, I only had 1 quart in the pan. What could be causing this, its a brand new car.

I verified that the full 5.5 quarts were put in at the last change and I only drove 2400 miles.

took my nissan to a garage and they replaced the complete distributer and changed both coils,it ran good for a day.started doing some checking my self and the secondary coil is not firing.replaced the coil again,not the problem.traced the pos. and neg. wires they seem to be ok coil wire to distributer looks ok. running very rough, black smoke from the exhaust.i have not replaced the I.C.module yet,but it was new with the distributer.

radiator was replaced with used one, not currently leaking.
have driven far enough to see how hot engine will get but does not currently smoke or boil water.needle is pegging near red zone.

car is 1991 mercedes 350sdl turbo diesel.

This doesn't happen often, maybe about once every few weeks or so. Its happen 4 times since I got the car about 2 months ago.

The car engine will shut off but the radio stays on. This leads me to believe it is not a battery problem. People have told me idle speed is too low - but mine idles at 600/700 rpm - which should be fine.

These are the possibilities I believe are more likely:

1) carburator needs cleaning. can any mechanic do this and how much does it cost?
2) fuel injection pump problem / fuel supply / filter problem
3) water deposits in the diesel gas

Any MECHANICS here that have seen this problem before and could suggest to me what to do?

I have heard different opinions on diesel additives - if it is so bad for the car tell me exaclty WHY. How else can I get water deposits out of my car without using products such as ISOHEET?

I have a Nissan Quest 99 SE with almost 170,000 miles on it. It has given me some headaches:
After I drove a little while, the Check Engine light would flash and, would usually stay on, occasionally off when it stopped. Using an AutoScanner it showed Code “P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected”. No more other code.
Taking the suggestion of my friend who works as a mechanic at a Toyota dealer, I swap-tested the plug wire to the #6 cylinder, replaced spark plugs (E3 E3.56 spark plugs. I suppose it should be better quality because it has longer warranty), replaced distributor cap and rotor. After finished this, when the engine started, idle was rather rough with the engine shaking quite a bit, and after driving it a little while, the MIL flashed again, but this time the Code is “P0325 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 or 1 Sensor”, the Code “P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected” did not show up again.
I really don’t understand why it did not show up together with Cylinder 6 misfire at first place? Is it changing the spark plugs killed the Knock Sensor? Is it the wrong spark plugs? What else should I check or replace before I take it to the dealer? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have a 2003 Nissan SE-R SpecV. qr25de. It starts fine and idles normal, but when I push on the gas it does nothing, it does not rev or anything. Checked codes and it says a bunch of different ones including:
P0102
P2122
P2138
P1229
P0222
P0113
Does anyone know which one would most likely cause this symptom? I was thinking the pedal position sensor sounded the most likely, but I am no mechanic. Help

My 96 nissan quest has a factory alarm that goes off when i open the door w/ the key and continuosly stays on prevrnting me from starting the engine . I had to pull the fuse for the alarm to shut it down . Is there a way to disarm or disable it altogether? And if so can u provide me w/ the info. ?

I have a 1992 Nissan Sentra which is a very faithful automobile. Today Something went awry. I was driving along a country highway and my car kept slowing down and I had to keep giving it more gas to keep up the speed. I have an 89 Nissan Sentra with 80k - runs great - and I was wondering if it would make any difference if I put headers on it? Is there any other performance upgrades that would make any difference? I don't really want to change out the exhaust because I had a brand new exhaust (not performance) put on about 6 months ago. Any suggestions?

Had the 04 nissan xterra, traded it for murano after 4 months. I luv the new design of the xterra especially since it has more of the guy look than the murano. Is there a big improvement from the 04 xterra to the 07? should I wait for the 08'?
