1997 Nissan Altima GXE Axle Question.?

Question

I need to remove and replace both front axles (half shafts). My shop book tool shows a special tool is needed to protect the oil seal when reinstalling the axle. My question is: is the same tool used for both sides?

I need to purchase the tool(s) and need a source and part number(s) to order. I have a Kent-Moore catalog and it shows #J-34296-1 Left side and #J-34297-1 Right side tools. Are both needed?

no you don't really need a tool . just be careful not to knock the spring off the axle seal I've never used one .. good luck
