I bought a 2006 Nissan Tiida here in Saudi Arabia. Now we have a choice of either 91% or 95% octane gasoline. Will the performance of the engine be the same on both kinds of gasoline?

Also, will my car do good on ethanol?

I am in the market to buy a new car . I have my eyes on an Altima & a Camry . I can't decide . I will like to keep this car for 8 yrs . I drove the Altima 4cyl and it has a lot of power and I think it has a better fuel economy than the Camry (pretty close) . But how about RELIABILITY ?
Is the Altima to give less maintenance problems than the Camry ?
Will the Altima hold it's value more than a Camry ?
I like the Altima because I think it is a little smaller and easier to handle like in parking lots parallel parking , rear parking etc. I think the Camry's visibility because of the size you are more likely to hit a car in a parking lot sooner or later in 8 yrs . But is the Camry more reliable in maintenance ? and hold it's price better ?
Your opinion is appreciated .

My Xterra died suddenly while driving earlier today and I could not restart it. I tried to several times; it almost started but just kept sputtering, maybe backfiring, and then just died out. Had it towed to my mechanic. At shop I tried to start it again...it is turning over but nothing else, no sputtering, etc. Had timing belt and other engine belts replaced 4 months ago. Car's been running fine since then until it died. Could it be an improperly installed timing belt? Hard to believe it would run well for 4 months with a belt not properly installed. Could it be fuel pump or another fuel line problem? Very worried that engine is destroyed if belt broke again. Shop is closed till Monday. How can I tell if engine is destroyed? Thanks.

Three days ago I had new valve cover gaskets put on my 2000 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab V6 by a reputable shop. When I got the truck back I added a bottle of some fuel system cleaner made by Preston to a tank of gas. the truck was driving great until tonight when the check engine light came on. I bought this truck new and this light has never come on. Also, about three years ago I had a timing belt put on the truck by a different but reputable shop. When i got the truck back I noticed that the electronic idle (or whatever you call the thing that makes the engine rev up and down at idle) was not working. I tried to reset it using directions from a vehicle specific manual that I bought at a parts store. The mechanic told me to bring it back to see if he could reset it but his shop is forty miles away and I never bothered. I have 180K on this truck and need it to last as long as possible. Please help!

I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE with a little over 120,000 miles on it. I'm having trouble with hesitation on acceleration (under 20 mph). At first, the car would only hesitate for a second when I would press on the gas, but now, it's gotten much worse, hesitating for as long as 5 to 10 seconds until I finally reach 20 mph...then it seems to run normally. What does this indicate and how do I fix it?

Need a used car, need opinions comparing b/w Toyota RAV4, Nissan Pathfinder, Saturn Vue, how they drive, dependability,
are they a mechanics nightmare? My Camry had a wicked blind spot on the drivers side, & unfortunately I have the damage to prove it! :) Thanks!

I have a 99 Maxima as a daily driver. I have never owned a auto trans before but I had to get one this time because my wife is going to be driving. Theres no way I was going to let her learn how to drive a manual on my evo.

So here is the question,

The trans has four gears, shutting off the over drive essentialy puts you in third gear instantly. Then you can shift into secon and first using the gear shift to instantly attain the proper gear.

The car has a strong downshift automaticaly but it is sometimes slow to respond to the gas pedal.

Will I be doing any damage to the trans by manually selecting the gears?? No answers about possibly shifting into too low of a gear because I know what gear to be in.

It would be great if I could instantly select the gear myself but I wont do it if it will tear up the trans!

I purchased a universal intake from advanced auto parts and I'm not sure if I'm going about the right way of intalling it... I took my air filter cover off and thought that you remove the whole thing - cover, filter, and all....but there are 3 or 4 different hoses attached to the bottom of the air filter box and that prevents me from removing it... am I doing this wrong or does anyone know what I can do? Picture of engine - this isn't my actual car but the red box is what I'm removing and its what has the hoses attached to the bottom http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/2/web/2186000-2186999/2186685_8_full.jpg
