Oh, God, that job will be a nightmare. The transmission will have to come off to change the rear main seal. The timing belt is on the other end of the engine. Go ahead and get it all done You won't have any more worries. Expect it to cost about a couple of grand, or close to it, using genuine parts.

Can't say exactly but its alot. Just to get to the rear main seal you have to pull the engine or drop the transmission. You're looking at around $50 tops for the seal and $800 - $1500 on labor. If you have an engine lift you can do it in a couple of hours.

Don't own a Nissan but roughly around $500-$600. Generally parts will not be the result of the high cost it is the labour since the seals are hard to access. The engile will have to be moved up.

Listen to that Master Tech. I also think you can seal up that leak by resealing the oil pan. Not a job for the average home garage mechanic.

Probably $450-550. You have to drop the transmission and remove the flywheel to replace it. It's worth the cost, as your Xterra suely has plenty of miles left in it.
