i own a shop and if your not holding back enough back pressure you will loose a little ,probably on high end running too,the newer engines was designed to run on so much back pressure,if your loosing any at all it wont be much though, you should be able to notice it in the running part of it,or the top end, good luck with it hope this helps.

You may be losing some HP if you regularly run high engine speeds. We don't know what kind of car you are talking about or which engine it has. If your muffler and exhaust system are OEM (original). it may be just fine the way you are. If you are interested in fuel economy, you will be keeping the engine speeds below 3000 RPM. If you are doing jack rabbit starts from each stop light, you are not interested in fuel economy. If you run up and down the freeways and turnpikes in top gear within the speed limits, your headers will be of no benefit. If you regularly run your engine for extended periods above 4000 RPM in any gear, then your headers and split exhaust tips may allow a little HP to benefit your ego and perhaps your car's performance. Maybe.

As a Nissan Master Tech I would say look elsewhere Your distributer might have oil in it. Fuel pump might have become un attached fron the bottom of the fuel tank. Intake air flow meter might be bad and not setting a code. We use fuel trim and Consult 2 tester to see what is going on.
