I have seen worn shifter rods causing the manual transmission shifter to get caught between two gears. More info like 4 cyl or V-6 and manual or auto trans. How many miles would be helpfull. Does the truck move when you let out the clutch? IF so that is the gear that is engaged and the shifter slector fork is caught between shift rods. Some times you can force the shifter back and forth right and left and get it unstuck. Wear on the detents and rods might cause this to happen again. So once free shift carefully and shop for a transmission.
