More like a funny "feeling". Almost like crunching when I press on the brakes.

my parents gave me a car and i have been using it for quite a while. im a new driver and i dont know much about cars. I have a simple question.. please dont bash me.

anyways, there was one incident that my steering wheel locked after parking. its like for anti-theft thingy. How can I set it to lock position? and is it effective? I was able to lock it but not intentionally. I tried experimenting on how to lock the steering but I failed. Any ideas?

I just bought this car a few days ago. I am now hearing this humming/whirring noise. You can't really hear anything till you get over 40 mph. It seems to be louder in the rear of the car. The sound reminds me of when I rode in a pick-up truck that had those huge mud tires. The tires are brand new, but an unknown brand. Could it just be these cheap tires, or maybe the bearings? Someone told me it might be something wrong with the suspension or the struts. (It is Honda Certified, plus I bought a 1 year warranty)

We have tried everything to unlock it. When we put our key in, it wont turn and neither will the steering wheel. Does anyone know how to get the lock to spring in the column itself?? We read something about using a 3/8" drill bit in the bottom circle unit. ANyone else ever heard of this or go a different route?

My car originals is 185/65/14. To put on 15 and stay with original settings, they state to put on 195/55/15 but I was thinking 205/55/15 better. And as far as size 16 they state to put on 205/45/16, but I was thinkimg 205/50/16 to get more sidewall. Will the sizes 205/55/15 and 205/50/16 fit my car and keep the speedometer working normal, I heard the rule it has to fit under 3% greater or less and both sizes say 1.6% to slow, whatever that means. I live in a place with bad terrain, so potholes are on my way a lot. What size should I get, and the other sizez, will they fit my car and keep the speedometer working normal? Thanks a LOT!!!!

I found a 2005 Kia rio sedan for 7000 with 23000 miles on it. However, I know that Honda civics can last a long time as long as you mantain them. Could this be true for a Kia rio as well? I don't know anything about kia's.

I have heard so many people make a guess, and one Honda offical to the next has a different answer, so what do you think?
The one I like best so far is Civic Recreational Vehicle because the CR-V is off the Civic platform. Makes sense to me, esp since there is an HR-V in Europe and Japan and it would make sense to call the Honda Recreational Vehicle.

Thoughts?

Anyone out there having trouble with the vehicle drifting (not pulling) to the right when you take your hands off the wheel? How about feeling like you're fighting with the steering wheel while driving straight?
