dude, if you're going to have your dad's civic, you shouldn't really put any mods no matter if they're turbos or just only an exhaust system b/c civics aren't meant to be sports cars and I know you're not trying to be a ricer but u need a sporty or sports car if u have enough money for insurance, so if u like the civic though, then ask ur dad to buy a honda civic si b/c the dx lx and ex models aren't meant for mods and performance since they're just economical cars, other better and faster honda sports cars are the prelude, acura integra gs-r and rsx type s, the honda accord coupe v6 with 6 speed manual (automatic accords and 4 cylinder accords are just family cars), and the best honda the s2000 but a little too much on insurance but still reliable as a honda civic and it's also a 2 seat roadster if you want to take more than 2 people for trips or anything like picking up ur friends, but any choice will do, if ur dad says to buy no car and use his civic, I still wouldn't do it so I wouldn;t be a loser but not to u though, good mods are an AEM cold air intake, K&N filter, Magnaflow or Invidia N1 Exhaust, or DC Headers, hopes this helps and good luck.

Whata ya mean you can't turn the key. Is the ignition locked or is there something wrong with your wrist motion? Whatever the case make sure your stick is set to P or move the steering wheel from left to right as you turn the key

Gearshift in park, right?
Try pulling on the steering wheel, first one direction, then the other, while attempting to turn the key.
Sometimes the car is parked with the wheels turned such that pressure in the steering column prevents the key from turning.

Try turning the steering right or left. There is a locking mechanism in the steering wheel and key that sometimes get snagged. If you can move the steering wheel slightly, it will probably free up the key.

My husband had this problem last week. Guy told him his ignition switch is shot....The tumblers are out of allignment...$300 to fix." The tow driver said, "put your key in and tap the key with a hammer, not so hard you break the key, but a good tap...and then try to turn again." Scary. Obviously not a long term fix. Also, make sure you have it completely in 'Park'...or it won't start.

It could be several reasons.
1) the key is worn or damaged and it no longer can trigger the ignition switch properly
2) the ignition switch is stuck and needs to be repaired or replaced
3) there's some sort of fail-safe mechanism active on the ignition to prevent the car from being started

I had this problem with several of my cars. Try turning the steering wheel first and then insert the key.
